This Privacy Policy explains how Stocel ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Mureut mobile apps (iOS and Android, bundle identifier com.stocel.mureut) and the website at mureut.stocel.com (together, "Mureut" or the "Service").
1. Who we are
Mureut is operated by Stocel, a solo software studio based in Seoul, South Korea. For any question about this policy or your data, contact by.min@stocel.com.
2. Information we collect
Mobile apps
- On-device data. Timer sessions, chronotype quiz results, session notes, and app preferences are stored locally on your device (SQLite and key-value storage). They are not transmitted to our servers.
- Product analytics. We use PostHog to record anonymous product-interaction and diagnostic events (for example: screens opened, timer started, quiz completed). This data is not linked to an identity and is not used for tracking, matching the declarations in our iOS Privacy Manifest.
- Local notifications. With your permission, Mureut schedules on-device notifications when a focus session ends. No push token is sent to our servers.
- No account. Mureut does not require sign-up, does not collect your name, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location.
Website
- Waitlist. If you sign up for the waitlist, we collect your email address (required) and, optionally, your responses to a short pre-launch survey.
- Web analytics. We use PostHog (client and server) to record anonymous page views and product events.
- Request metadata. Our hosting receives standard information such as IP address and user-agent for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- Send you launch announcements and product updates if you joined the waitlist (you can unsubscribe with one click from any email).
- Understand aggregate usage to prioritize features.
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and technical errors.

- Waitlist entries are kept until you unsubscribe, after which the record is marked cancelled and removed on request.
- Analytics events follow PostHog's default retention (up to 7 years for product data; we do not extend beyond the platform default).
- On-device mobile data remains on your device until you reset it in-app or uninstall the app.
- Log data is kept up to one year.
6. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by emailing by.min@stocel.com. Every waitlist email also includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Depending on your jurisdiction (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, Korea PIPA), you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
7. Children
Mureut is not directed at children under 14 (Korea) or under 13 (United States / other jurisdictions), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International data transfers
Our processors listed above are based in the United States. If you use Mureut from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there. We rely on these providers' own safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable).
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards including HTTPS in transit, access control on our hosting and database, encryption of unsubscribe tokens, and limited administrative access. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong email password and keep your device software updated.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the website before the changes take effect.
